‘The Power Of Two’ in Tokyo’s Metropolis Magazine

Jessica Ocheltree of the English-language publication Metropolis Magazine wrote an article about Ana and Isa after meeting with them in the Marunouchi district of Tokyo. Jessica quotes Isa as saying: “Organ donation is not about taking something from families—it’s about giving them an opportunity to help other people in their tragedy. We aren’t saying that our lives as recipients are more important than the donor’s lives. That life of the donor is so valuable, but it’s already been let go. Organ donation is the one last act that a person can perform after they have died to help other people.”

Ana and Isa in the Mainichi Shimbun

The Mainichi Shimbun, a national newspaper in Japan, devoted their popular ‘People’ column to The Miracle Twins on October 24th. They are quoted as saying, “The real heroes are the donor families. They should be honored.”

The Okinawa Times covers The Miracle Twins

The Okinawa Times published an article on Ana and Isa’s speech at a symposium on organ transplant awareness in Urasoe, Okinawa on October 18th. Ana is quoted as saying, “We received life from our donors,” and Isa is quoted as saying, “We thankful for every breath.” One issue brought up during the symposium was the need for brain death to be recognized as death in Japan.

Miracle Twins in the Ryukyu Shimpo

The Ryukyu Shimpo, an Okinawan newspaper, was in attendance on October 18th in Urasoe City when Ana and Isa spoke at a symposium focusing on raising awareness for organ transplant. More than 130 people were in attendance for the speech and concert.
