Breathe California: Bike 4 Breath & Education Series Podcast
Posted by The Power Of Two
On July 10, 2010, Anabel Stenzel will lead Team Second Wind in an annual fundraising ride to promote lung health and clean air policy in the greater Bay Area. Bike 4 Breath is hosted by our Community Partner, Breathe California, who just released an Education Series podcast featuring THE POWER OF TWO director/producer Marc Smolowitz (click above to listen). Marc details Ana Stenzel & Isa Stenzel Byrnes’ advocacy abroad as a storytelling anchor to draw parallels between the United States and Japan, which is currently at the tipping point for new policies and laws around organ donation. Marc has faith in the twins’ story as a vehicle to engage universal audiences to think about organ donation and ultimately to encourage individuals in both countries to opt-in through their local channels.
Last year’s Bike 4 Breath was the very first film shoot for THE POWER OF TWO documentary. We were humbled to contribute that day’s clips to Breathe California for their new Public Service Announcement promoting the coming ride. Watch the PSA below:
In its 8th year, Team Second Wind currently has 14 members including Ana & Isa, several employees of APT Pharmeceuticals (one of our sponsors), and three lung transplant recipients. The team welcomes new riders, read below for more info!
Ride Details – July 10, 2010
There are four rides to choose from: a flat 10 mile or 18 mile ride, or a more challenging and hilly 50 and 62 mile ride. The ride starts in Foster City and includes beautiful views of the Bay and residential areas of Foster City. You can go as long as you want, and take as much time as you want and it is a fun way to get in shape and be among friends who can motivate you and cheer you on! Click here for more information or to register for Team Second Wind. Though we’d love to have transplant recipients ride, we welcome ANYONE- friends, family, or supporters, or health care providers to join our team.
Registered riders are also invited to the June 27 Bike Clinic/Pre-Event Party at Sports Basement – Presidio. Please RSVP to the event coordinator, Nicole Villanueva. We hope you will join us for the 2010 Bike 4 Breath!
