On Oct. 12th, 2009, "The Power Of Two" spent the day touring around the southern island of Kyūshū with the international delegation from the 18th Annual Japan Transplant Games. Our special day included a magnificent gondola-style boat ride through the canals and rice fields of Yanagawa (the Venice of Japan), a sudden Kabuki-esque performance in the streets of a rural village, and a visit to Hakozaki Shrine - one of the three great Japanese shrines dedicated to the Emperor-divinity Hachiman, and a place where Japanese have gone to pray for success ever since the shrine's dedication in 921. The resulting "ON THE ROAD" video serves as a visual love letter to this portion of our journey - a kind of video poem that offers a magical lens on an incredible nation - Japan. |
